# The Collection

GOKIBURI is a collection of **4,096** deterministic on-chain cockroach specimens.

Each token is assigned a genome derived from its token ID. That genome selects the body, antennae, legs, markings, condition, motion, and biological state. The final SVG and metadata are generated when `tokenURI(tokenId)` is called.

There is no external image folder required to reconstruct the specimen. The contract returns the image as a Base64-encoded SVG data URI inside Base64-encoded JSON metadata.

## Observation, not decoration

The visual system borrows from specimen registration, containment labels, and biological field notes. The collection is deliberately uncomfortable: abrupt leg timing, asymmetric gait phases, damaged bodies, brood carriers, and uncertain enclosure records make otherwise minimal pixels feel alive.

The authoritative supply, price, mint state, and renderer addresses are always the values stored by the deployed collection contract.

## Design principles

1. **Fully on-chain:** art and metadata are generated by contracts.
2. **Deterministic:** the same token ID produces the same genome.
3. **Pixel-native:** artwork stays crisp and intentionally low-resolution.
4. **Biologically wrong:** motion favors asymmetry and discomfort over clean mechanical loops.
5. **Size-conscious:** every visual system must fit Ethereum-compatible deployment constraints.
